5th and 6th February saw activists from all around the country gather in London and descend on the Department for International Trade to demand an end to Liam Fox’s Trade Bill power grab.
Protesters, including members of War on Want and Global Justice Now, performed a tug of war stunt in front of the Department for International Trade to illustrate the power struggle that is going on behind the scenes to gain control over the UK’s politics and economy.
Dangerous and secretive international trade deals threaten democracy, small businesses, workers rights, public health and environment.
Gorton MP, Afzal Khan pledged support for trade democracy, holding up a Global Justice Now campaign postcard for the camera.
The protest moved on to Parliament Square and later the City of London, to tour some of the sites where corporate bureaucrats are plotting to take away our rights.
Caroline Lucas MP and Barry Gardiner MP spoke at a public meeting organised to debate the latest developments in trade deal negotiations.
