On Friday 28th July Manchester will see a new DIY arts and politics space Partisan open right in the centre of the city.
As part of the jam packed opening weekend line-up, Global Justice Now are running a workshop on trade on Saturday afternoon, the 29th from 13.00-14.00.
Entitled Trade Trouble: We’ve lost control, the workshop will address the issues of corporate power, democracy and activism.
Liam Fox is cosying up Trump, there’s talk of Empire 2.0 in Africa and a toxic trade bill is to hit parliament this autumn.  In post-Brexit UK trade is being billed as our saviour.  But ‘free trade’ isn’t what it’s cracked up to be.  As well as threatening workers’ rights, environmental protections and food safety standards, the UK government is negotiating behind closed doors and preventing the public or parliament from any say in the process. We’ve already defeated TTIP and we are not going to let these new dodgy deals pass without a fight.

Saturday 29th July 13:00 – 14:00
